kokkia i10s effect on battery life

total time
dear reader, the verdict is out... with the ipod classic and the bh505  fully charged, and i10s attached to the ipod dock connector, the picture on t he left show you the timing.. but not for the exhaustion of ipod classic battery life, but for the exhaustion of bh505 headset!!

my bh505 goes off after a few beeps(to warn you battery low), but the ipod classic goes off in another 3 mins later. therefore, both the battery life are quite on par.

near 12 hours of play time should be enough for most people. for me, i only listen to it 2 hrs/day during commuting. therefore, only requires charging once per week for both of this gadget.

the sound quality from ipod->i10s->bh505, is quite ok. i have tried the same songs from iphone 4s using bluetooth to bh505, and i never notice any difference in sound quality between the two. the loudness from ipod to bh505 is very acceptable. mainly due to bh505 itself is an in-ear headset. the ear plug can comes in 6 sizes and you definitely can find one that snug comfortably into your ears.

a little something i discovered about i10s:
1. if you turn off both i10s and bh505, you need to turn on ur bh505 first and by pressing the play button, you are required to wait for around 15 secs before the connection from i10s comes in.
2. during the connection, you can see the blue led at i10s lights up, blink slowly the faster, the back to blink slow.
3. if you hear a beep, and no song comes from ipod, you might need to press the play button on your bh505 again.

overall:
3.5/5 star rating from me. i10s is small enough to be carried around. but problem is it does consume quite a fair bit of battery from your ipod classic as the normal battery life from the ipod should be around 36hrs according to apple website (http://www.apple.com/ipodclassic/specs.html). but for the convenience of going wireless, this is the price you got pay.

kokkia i10s

kokkia i10s

just received the kokkia bluetooth i10s transceiver from ebay. sounds easy right? not so if you are staying in singapore.

i get to know this little gadget when i start surfing the net for bluetooth transceiver since june'12. i wanna use this for my ipod classic 7th gen(birthday gift from my wife : ))

as the ipod classic does not come with bluetooth, therefore you need (or don't need) to attach a transceiver to its dock connecting port. and upon pairing up, you will be able to transmit the songs to your bluetooth headset.

as apple authorized dealer doesn't hold this brand in singapore, the closest for the hunting escapade lands me onto a bluetooth transceiver by our local tech giant, creative(http://sg.store.creative.com/speakers/creative-bluetooth-audio-bt-d5-iphone-ipod-transmitter/4-19612.aspx)

but BUT!! after reading some review from user who owns this gadget, it seems like it is having some bug, mainly the off by itself problem(after 5mins of playing song). meanwhile, the review for i10s are great as lots of user recommended. problem is, though amazon and ebay does sell this device, they DO NOT SHIP TO SINGAPORE!!

luckily, very recently, some company got it imported to singapore and is selling on ebay!! ok, that's how i got my i10s. ( http://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/KOKKIA-i10s-Black-Tiny-Bluetooth-iPod-Transmitter-iPod-iPhone-iPad-/261088392311?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_216&hash=item3cca14b477#ht_505wt_907 ). so i got mine for SGD$69.99 with free postage.

now, for the review of i10s. first, they comes in black or white, with and without some other functions (like transmitting to 2 bluetooth headset at once). please note that, transmitting to 2 headset requires more power, and the power comes from your ipod battery.

how to connect
1. plug the i10s into your ipod dock connector port, and you will see it the tiny blue led start to blink.
2. on your bluetooth headset. for bh 505 user, press the start button for 8 secs and
3. the blue led will blink faster and
4. it is connected.

for bh 505 user, you can fast forward, rewind, up/down volume and pause/play as your device is compliant with:
Bluetooth Specification 2.1 + EDR
supporting the following profiles:
Headset Profile 1.1, Hands-Free
Profile (HFP) 1.5, Advanced Audio
Distribution Profile (A2DP) 1.2, and
Audio Video Remote Control Profile 1.0.

hope you enjoy your i10s as much as i do and i will review a week later for its effect on the battery life of my ipod.

cheers.... :)

a little introduction

ok, the thing is this... i like to shop, and whatever i bought, i always got comments, complaints, pro and cons... though my wife sometimes listen to what i gotta say about these items, but it can bored her to death... sometimes too technical and too detailed...

i am sure there are lots of people out there who are just like me, very critical of their hunt. and i always got something to say...
